BlackBox is based on very popular RTL8186 chipset. Thanks many advanced configurational options BB54G designed grandly for wireless internet service provider (WIPS) and SOHO advanced users.

This BB54G v2 PoE version include very useful features for customers -remote power by ethernet (Power over Ethernet). Special injector is included, 12V power adapter let use up to 30m long cat5 cable for power BlackBox in places far from electric grid (like roof). Powering by PoE is possible through  WAN and LAN1 ports.

New version V2 QoS firmware provide bandwich manager to manage traffic for users in Gateway and WISP mode, routing setup, and software watchdog. New wireless fatures have Turbo Mode, WMM, ACK modification and Blocking Relay Between Clients.

Operation mode:

• Gateway:LAN and WLAN port share WAN port internet connection via ADSL/Cable Modem. The NAT is enabled. The connection type can be setup in WAN page by using PPPOE, DHCP client, PPTP client or static IP.
• Brigde: In this mode, all ethernet ports and wireless interface are bridged together and NAT function is disabled. All the WAN related function and firewall are not supported.
• Wireless ISP: In this mode, all ethernet ports are bridged together and the wireless is connecting to ISP access point. The NAT is enabled and PCs in ethernet ports share the same IP to ISP through wireless conection. You have to set the wireless to client mode first and connect to the ISP AP in Site-Survey page. The connection type can be setup in WAN page by using PPPOE, DHCP client, PPTP client or static IP.
